Ministry Opportunities

The Bible is clear that the body of Christ is made of diverse parts with specific talents and made up of people with unique skills and knowledge that allow each person to minister in unique ways. (I Pet 4:10; Rom 12:4-8; I Cor 12:12-26; Eph 4:11-16) We invite you to browse the diverse list of ministry needs below to find the ministries that line up with your unique calling and the way the Lord has equipped you. We’ve divided the ministry opportunities to include a range of options based on your preference in interacting with people. With a range from being out in front to being behind the scenes, there’s an opportunity for you to #TravelWithPurpose as we partner together to fulfill Matthew 28:19-20.

I like to minister to groups.

Evangelistic Preaching. Those who are called to preach evangelistically are invited to contact us to discuss opportunities to do so. Some missions feature a single speaker throughout the week while others include a rotation of evangelistic speakers.

Medical and Health Awareness. This is consistently one of our most popular ministries among the people in any country we visit. There is a deep need for even rudimentary information on health and sanitation. Past successful medical campaigns have included distributing prescription glasses, providing mental health counseling, and presenting “Brush your teeth. Wash your hands. Cover your cough.” to school children. We are actively looking for medical and health professionals to lead these types of initiatives during trips, as well as those who are not trained in health and medicine but feel a call to assist.

Sunday Ministry. On Sunday morning, those who wish to speak in a local church will be given the opportunity to do so. Additionally, those who minister in music or other forms of ministry on Sundays will be able to use their gifts at a local church.

Teaching. The number one request we receive from around the world is that of ministers and pastors asking urgently for ministry training. We ask those who feel called to teach on a trip to pray that the Holy Spirit will give them a topic to teach. Topics are extremely varied and in the past have included:

  • You Were Made For A Mission
  • Why People Follow: The Science of Keeping the Flock Together and Moving in the Same Direction
  • Why People Stay (A study of what causes people to want to remain as part of a congregation)
  • Life-Giving Intercessory Prayer
  • Agape Love
  • Assurance: Finding the Will of God
  • It’s Not Over Until God Says It’s Over
  • Increasing Your Faith
  • Spiritual Growth and Self-Respect
  • Old Testament Law: The Foundation of Christ
  • New Testament Acts: Propagation of Christ
  • He Who Wins Souls Is Wise

I like to minister to specialized groups.

Children’s Ministry. On many of our trips, we provide specialized training in effective strategies for Children’s Ministry. Whether your interest is in providing children’s ministry training to children’s ministers around the world yourself, or whether your interest is in playing a supporting role in WCCM Partners the Polley Family in training and clowning, additional help from people of all ages is always welcome in these sessions.

Women’s Ministry. These sessions are taught by women for women. Past sessions have included the topics “Finding the Will of God”, “Shelter from the Storm”, “Walking by Faith”, and “My Chains Are Gone”.

I like to minister one-on-one.

Counseling/Inner Healing. Certified counselors play an important role in any of the missions we offer. Just like our own country, countries around the world are filled with hurting people who are many times served in a way they never have been before through the service of those who have been trained to give professional counseling. While counselors are encouraged to use their talent and training for all on the trips we offer, we have found particular success in women’s counseling.

Medical and Health Awareness. This is consistently one of our most popular ministries in any country we visit. There is a deep need for even rudimentary information on health and sanitation. Past successful medical campaigns have included distributing prescription glasses, offering chiropractic services, and even the simple act of taking blood pressure readings.

I like to minister behind the scenes…

…In the Mission Field.

Altar Worker Ministry. Praying with new converts and those who need personal prayer around the altar.

Journaling/Writing. Keeping a daily journal of ministry and/or writing articles that can be shared on our website and social media accounts. This is one of the vital, yet underserved ministry opportunities in any of our mission trips. This high-impact mission work doesn’t just affect the people in the country for the few days you’re there—it’s a lasting impact that affects the country for years to come.

Organizational. There are many ways to assist “behind the scenes” on a mission trip. From food preparation and distribution to setup and breakdown of the stage or working the sign-in booth, there are almost never “enough” hands to fulfill all of the ministry needs. Many have participated in WCCM trips without being on stage, but have returned home feeling like they have fulfilled the calling God gave them. “I assure you that when you have done it for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have done it for me.” Matthew 25:40 (ESV)

Photography/Videography. Documenting the ministry through photos and video during each mission is needed so we can share the good news and the success of the mission with others. This is one of the vital, yet underserved ministry opportunities in any of our mission trips. This high-impact mission work doesn’t just affect the people in the country for the few days you’re there—it’s a lasting impact that affects the country for years to come. …From My Home Country.

Graphic Design/Layout Design. At WCCM we believe in giving our all to excel in beauty and creativity in everything we do for God. If your talent is in graphic design or brochure/workbook design, we would love for you to minister in those areas! You can get a feel for the kind of graphic design we use when you browse our social media pages with examples such as Facebook Cover Photos and Instagram/Twitter Trip Cards and Logos like the WCCM Tanzania 2015 logo in this picture, this “pump up” card, this “trip commencement” card, and this ministry update card. We are currently revamping our standard brochures and conference workbook designs. Let us know if you’re interested in being a part of this vital ministry.

Translation Services. As we travel around the world, we often have a need to translate the material of those who “go” into the language of those we are teaching. In addition to translating the material, we are always in need of good translators who know the languages fluently. We are interested in hearing from those who are proficient or fluent in any language, but our current greatest need is for those who can translate into Spanish (Latin America) and French (African French).
