Since 1978 we have been ministering to the needs of those in cities with populations that exceed one million. From New York to Bangalore and from Lagos to Moscow, we have networked with hundreds of ministries to reach over fifty cultures in more than forty countries on five continents.
Wilson International University in Bangalore, India, has been blessed with the donation of a DVD Library worth more than $2,000. This Library includes The Passion of the Christ, the three-DVD Left Behind series, and The Jesus Film in 8 different languages among many other titles.
India Field Director and President of Wilson International University Reverend Dr. Jaideep Jesudoss, reports that the training material on DVDs is providing for the means to be on the cutting edge of ministry throughout India, as well as other nations. Jesudoss says:
With the material which has been availed to the McCloud Ministry Center, our training has just leaped ahead by 10 years. The timely provision has thrust WCCM into the forefront to train, evangelize and edify the saints. The curriculum is being utilized to minister to the students at WIU as well as churches, seminars, workshops, small study groups and other outreaches.
Upon viewing the DVD Library List, my heart is filled with a new vision and an eagerness to carry the Gospel throughout India and other nations. There is no other institution [near Bangalore] which has this kind of material, as I have checked out all the libraries myself.
Ministry teams in and around Bangalore will now have a source to check out DVDs to share the Gospel. In the country that created Bollywood and produces more than two movies every day, these high-quality, Biblically centered DVDs will be a tool to capture an audience that may otherwise not be captured, and draw them in to the Truth of the Bible.
In Southern India, behind the Rocky Wainwright Memorial Center, there is a village. In the aftermath of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, this predominantly Hindu village witnessed the help of Christians at the Wainwright Center giving assistance and love.
Because of this love, dozens began to attend church at the Wainwright Center, braving crocodile and jellyfish in shoulder-deep water during the pitch-black of night to hear who this Jesus was that led the Center to provide the help they needed. In the video below, we see the river, beyond which is a village that now has its own church attended by, among others, three former workers at the local Hindu temple.
When traveling around the world does not take 80 days anymore,
When time taken to warm your food is just a matter of seconds,
When the time taken to contact somebody anywhere in the world is just one phone call away,
When washing clothes is simply – automatic,
When books which ran into volumes have now been stored in a tiny device,
When cars are more powerful and go much faster,
It makes me wonder what we do with all that time we just saved up ?
And in all that goes on, giving time to the person and accomplishment of the Lord Jesus Christ is still a heavy and cumbersome task seemingly so heavy and lengthy that it could at best be looked into – shall we say – tomorrow ? when of course there would be more time… sounds familiar doesn’t it ?
Let me invite you to International Praisefest. IP, an effort made by WCCM that goes all over the world. The most powerful trait of IP is (more…)
The Rocky Wainwright Memorial Center is a ministry center in South India about an hour outside of Chennai. It was built in 2000 and when the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004 hit, it was turned into a hub for helping those effected by the tsunami. The waters of the tsunami, which reached 108 feet high and were traveling at approximately 600 miles per hour, miraculously came within 200 feet of the center and then stopped.
From this center we’ve not only been able to distribute blankets, rice, and other food, but WCCM also established a grief counseling center where dozens of people came for several months to receive counseling.
The WCCM BriteStar Academy has been through its first year of school and has grown from about 40 students to 150. The video below shows the 4-year old Preschoolers.
The school was ranked in the top 10 in Nakuru, the provincial capital of Kenya’s Rift Valley province, with roughly 2M inhabitants in the metropolitan area.
The school currently teaches 3-5 year old preschool as well as grades 1-4. Our vision is to see this school reach 1,200+ students grades Pre-K through high school.
